The first session was held last Monday at Roth Händle Studios. The whole process will stretch out for several months with quite long gaps in between, and the album will have  a scheduled release around spring 2011. 

This first session contained quite a bit of playful experimentation as you can see below. I will not get in to details, but I can assure you that the material we have for this album is by far the strongest we have written so far. So, stay tuned.

Its an extremely small venue and the sound is not always the best (as you can hear), but its always a fun place to play, crowded, sweaty and with great atmosphere.

So, it had to happen. The first pressing of both Tid är Ljud and Detta Har Hänt is now completely sold out at Record Heaven/Transubstans. You might of course find a copy at local distributors or record stores, but don’t count on it.

We are of course working on a second pressing of both albums, but it might take some time. However, the second pressing will not be made in the delicate digipak format, but in standard jewel case. This is the reason why you should act fast when reading this:

Back in 2007, we participated on a compilation CD released by a dear friend of us on his label Great Northern Recordings. The CD was released in 157 copies, each handnumbered and with the actual CD attached to a vintage seven inch record with a golden spider painted on it (look above). Very beatiful little thingies. The other three bands that participated was ASS, Erik Enoksson and Detektivbyrån.

The two songs recorded by us for this compilation was “Sorterargatan 2″ and “Polska från Vinsta gård”. Both songs were recorded, mixed and mastered quite fast and sketchy in our own Studio Pelikaan. Due to the fact that this Compilation sold out more or less already at the release party we thought it would be good idea to make them accessible once again in electronic format.

To get some more background, these songs were recorded after Tid Är Ljud was released, and is our first recording with Einar as guitarplayer. In a way you can see this as our Garage Days Re-Revisited-recording. Yes, I am rudely enough comparing Einar to Jason Newsted in the way that album served as Metallicas way of testing the skills, and presenting their new bassplayer. Howerever, we knew already at first rehersal with Einar that he was a keeper, so its not really a fair comparison.

However these songs serve as a good document in time of where we were then, trying to find our new identity as a band. Parts of “Sorterargatan 2″ obviously became “Sorterargatan 3″ on Detta Har Hänt. “Polska från Vinsta gård” however is a totally different story, that would probably not have fitted on any of our albums, but is none the less a good song, but much more folk/jazz-jam than you probably ever heard us.

PS. For those who don’t speak Italian we can also mention that DHH was one of the finalists for the Italian Prog Awards’ prize for Best Foreign Album. In the end, the prize went to Kotebel for their album “Ouroboros”. Congratulations!

We have had the opportunity to hear the recording as well as to come with feedback regarding the mix and the result is something we like a lot. As we played for 45 mins and the radio show is only 30 mins we had to cut a little in it so two or three songs are missing, but who knows – perhaps we can use them somewhere else in the future. In the end, we chose three lengthy ones; Sorterargatan 3, Västerbron 05:30 and Svenska Hjärtan (extended live version).

There should be no problems listening from abroad but there doesn’t seem to be a translated version of the website, so it might be good for you to know that “Lyssna på Webbradio” at the top opens the live web radio and “Lyssna” in the yellow field opens the latest P3 Live broadcast. We are not really sure whether you need to have a contact on the inside or not to get an album on Spotify in connection with a cd release, but what we do know is that Detta Har Hänt can be found on Grooveshark meanwhile. We have had a small problem with our webshop for some time, a problem that seems to have been bigger than we realized as quite a few people have been bailing out from ordering in the last minute according to our weblogs. No wonder when it was only possible to enter  Sweden as the shipping country.  This is hopefully fixed now, but please let us know if you run into any other problems.

We have also put up two “value packs” if you like the idea of saving some money. In short, you will either get all or most of the shipping for free, depending on where you live. And some good merchandise as well. We (and the record company) seem to have about 15 copies left of Tid är Ljud in digipack and if it ever gets a new pressing it will probably be in jewel case. So if you don’t have it yet, make sure you get one of the last copies now. The same goes for the canvas bags. We have about 30 of them left.
